
Nine from across the region have been named in the first round of finalists at Scotland’s 2026 Countryside Alliance Awards.
Oxton Community Shop, Ancrum Pantry and Broughton Village Store are all up for Village Shop/ Post Office award.

The Buccleuch Arms in St Boswells, The Gordon Arms and The Blackadder Bar and Restaurant are in the mix to be named best pub.
Jedburgh-based Fine Feathers has been nominated in the Rural Enterprise category, with Briggsy’s Quality Butchers competing to be crowned best butcher.
The Allanton Inn is nominated in the Local Food and Drink category.

The awards aim to celebrate rural business, with winners decided by a public vote which will open next month.
Regional winners of the awards will be announced in the spring and then will go onto a national final in Westminster in July.
