Hawick: Man jailed after admitting series of offences

A BORDERS man who admitted a series of offences has been jailed for nine months at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.

Thirty-two-year-old Darren Devlin, of Hawick, appeared on three separate complaints for offences including theft by shoplifting, theft, threatening or abusive behaviour, breach of the peace and breaching of a Community Pay Back order.

Defence lawyer Ed Hulme said his client accepted a custodial sentence was likely and that Devlin did not have a bail address to offer the court.

Devlin was jailed for a total of 272 days back-dated to December 22.
